The Structure of Scientific Revolutions

Brian Delaney asked: "Does anyone know of a good book that we could recommend to people who are learning how to assess scientific studies?"

T.S. Kuhn, The Structure of Scientific Revolutions is sort of good
for this. It certainly underscores the importance of not getting
overly enamored with the paradigm(s) currently popular in any field.
Paradigms are all mortal & it is only a matter of time before their
shortcomings become overwhelmingly apparent and they are replaced.
Science is too much of an intuitive art to be capable of being
easily taught. I suspect that a plain logic text might be of good
use.
