ASAP to attend June Conference!
The second CR Society Conference will be held in a Madison Wisconsin
hotel adjacent to the University of Wisconsin. The Conference will run
from Thursday June 5 through Sunday June 8, 2003. Dr.
Richard Weindruch has accepted our offer to participate in the conference.
In addition, we have invited several other UW-Madison CR researchers to
speak and participate. We expect about 5-7 professional scientist speakers
and about 5-7 CR Society member speakers.
The Conference dates are June 5-8, 2003. While the speaker schedule is
still a work in progress, it looks like we will have a full schedule starting
Thursday morning (June 5). The hotel and dorm room blocks will be available
for June 4 check-in.

The registration fee will be $125-$150.
The conference hotel is the Best
Western Inn on the Park. We have a block of 40 rooms (20 with 1 bed,
20 with 2 beds) reserved at $99 + 13.5% tax per night single or double.
Just call 800 279-8811 or 608 257-8811 and identify yourself as part of
the "CR Society Block" to make your reservations. This block
will be released on May 5.
As a low cost option, we will also offer student dorm rooms at the Towers
Private Residence Hall. Registration info will be available in a few weeks.
I (David) will be handling reservations and collecting prepayment. The
rate for a two bedroom unit will be about $25/night. These have a shared
bathroom and kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator but no TV, no
telephone, no maid service. This dorm is about 6-7 blocks from the Best
Western. Parking is a problem near both facilities, so don't forget your
rain gear if you choose this option.
There are two types of two bedroom units available. "singles"
have one twin bed in each bedroom. "Doubles" have two twin beds
in each bedroom. Since the rooms are all the same size and we are being
charged by the room and the number of guests, I will assume all want singles.
Doubles can be specially requested by a note on the reservation form.

If you are sharing a room, only one registrant needs to pay, but both
should send a registration form. If you leave the roommate entry blank
now, you can email me your roommate's name later if you decide to share
the unit.

The address for this dormitory is listed above. Parking is available
two to three blocks
from the residence hall in University of Wisconsin lot 83 at the Fluno
Center. This is
an underground parking garage located at the corner of Francis and University
Streets.
The charge is $7 per day with unlimited in and out privileges. A convenient
